Alamosa juniors Sarah De La Cerda and Madeline Castillo finished fifth and seventh in the Class 3A girls final at the Colorado High School Activities Association state cross country championship meet at Norris Penrose Events Center in Colorado Springs. De La Cerda covered the 5-kilometer layout in 18:43.5 and Castillo clocked 18:45.7 to help Alamosa capture its first state team title since 2014 with a 57-88 victory against The Classical Academy. De La Cerda improved from seventh place last year, helping Alamosa secure its third team championship, along with 2009.
